Native American Heritage

Oklahoma was transitioning from Indian Territory to statehood
just as the company that was to become Flintco was founded by C. W.
Flint, Sr. It is with this same spirit of family, hard work, and
pride in a job well done that has guided Flintco's maturing today
as a leading general contractor with more than 1,100 employees.
Despite our growth and ranking Flintco remains a privately-held
Native American-owned company - now in its third generation of
Flint family ownership.
As the largest Native American-owned contractor in the world,
Flintco is honored to be selected as the contractor of choice based
upon our experience in
Indian Country. The Redbird Smith Health
Center in Sallisaw, Okla. marked the beginning of Flintco's
long list of Native American building projects. Today, the
tradition continues through many successful partnerships that have
been forged with over 65 Indian Nations - a reflection of Flintco's
understanding and honoring of each distinctive culture.
At Flintco, we are proud of our contributions to improving the
quality of life for Native Americans on tribal lands around the
country by building much-needed facilities, including: community
centers, gaming venues, health care facilities, hospitality and
leisure projects, retail centers and schools.
In addition to generating jobs and promoting self reliance, the
people of Flintco are helping deliver a brighter future for Native
Americans throughout the U.S. through the construction of these
facilities.
Building Better Communities
Sensitivity to cultural nuances and respect for traditional
values has placed Flintco in a position to best meet each Native
American client's needs. By including the tribe, pueblo, or
rancheria as a fully vested team member throughout the construction
process, Flintco is able to cultivate mutually beneficial
relationships that result in a project that truly reflects the
community.
Developing Constructive Solutions goes far beyond the
construction of a facility. At Flintco, we also actively seek ways
in which we can help build better communities by supporting
economic growth that focuses on a concerted effort in mentoring
Native American and minority subcontractors, as well as hiring and
training Native American workers. Since receiving our first Tribal
Employment Rights Certification in 1991, Flintco has obtained
certifications from many additional tribes who recognize our
concerted efforts to provide meaningful employment and training
opportunities.
Flintco's commitment to establishing training programs in the
construction trades provides Native American workers the ability to
develop skills in carpentry and other crafts they can take back to
their communities - skills that last a lifetime. Over the years,
Flintco has been honored with such awards as the National Minority
Business Advocate of the Year award from the U.S. Department of
Commerce for outstanding performance in the service industry and
excellent service to the minority community. For additional insight
