Native American Heritage
Flintco was founded by a Native American family and continued under that ownership for more than 100 years. Our Native American heritage strongly influenced our business interactions and it is this same culture that continues to drive the company today.
It is an honor to work in Indian Country and to contribute to improving the quality of life through buildings that meet the community's needs, including gathering centers, schools, healthcare facilities, hospitality and leisure projects as well as commercial projects. Since the first project Flintco constructed in Indian Country – the Redbird Smith Health Center in Sallisaw, Okla. – we have enjoyed developing successful and long-term relationships with more than 65 Indian Nations.
Building Better Communities
We actively seek ways in which we can help support the communities where we work and reside. This includes working effectively with Tribal Employment Rights Offices to provide employment and training opportunities. We have a long track record of helping to develop Native American subcontractors and implementing proactive programs to hire and train Native American workers. These training programs are centered on giving Native American workers the ability to develop skills in management, carpentry and other crafts they can take back to their communities – skills that last a lifetime.
