Description:

  • The new plant produces steam and chilled water for heating and cooling the campus, serving 10 million SF – the equivalent to heating and cooling about 9,000 homes.
  • This new facility serves as the base for the utility distribution crews and equipment and the Utilities and Energy Management Department. It also houses administrative, engineering and geospatial staff.
  • The facility is integrated into the educational curriculum as the facility includes an 80-person classroom for interdisciplinary teaching, an observation deck to view the boiler, chiller floors and display screens showing settings from the control room.
