University of Memphis Engineering Complex HVAC Upgrade Phase 2

The project consisted of the removal of approximately 73,000 SF of acoustical and plaster ceilings, the complete removal of an existing mechanical system, and the installation of a new automated fire protection system, fire alarm system, and mechanical system within a three story occupied facility. The new mechanical system consisted of three main air handling units, over 108 interior hvac units, three boilers, and nine roof mounted condensing units. As the three story building remained fully occupied, with classes in session, during the entire duration of the aggressive 10 month construction schedule close coordination was critical.
