Bentonville, AR – The new Adult Recreation Center broke ground, marking a significant milestone in the City of Bentonville’s commitment to enhancing the well-being of its older adult population. The ceremony, held at the site of the existing Downtown Activity Center, brought together city officials, community leaders, and key project collaborators, including Flintco and Hight-Jackson Associates.

The new Adult Recreation Center, a project three years in the making, is the result of extensive community input and careful planning. This two-story expansion will add over 35,000 square feet of space dedicated to promoting health, fitness, and community engagement among Bentonville’s residents aged 50 and above.

Scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2026, the state-of-the-art facility includes amenities to promote active living and social interaction. From a full-size gymnasium with pickleball courts to a warm-water therapy pool, an indoor walk/jog track, group fitness studios, open fitness areas, multi-purpose rooms, locker facilities, and a full-service café, the center is designed to cater to a wide spectrum of wellness activities.

Flintco, a construction company with deep roots in the community, will lead the construction efforts for the Adult Recreation Center. Brent Farmer, VP/Area Manager at Flintco said, “The new Adult Recreation Center embodies Bentonville’s unwavering commitment to promoting health, fitness, and inclusivity for all residents. At Flintco, we are deeply ingrained in the fabric of this community, and it is truly gratifying to be part of a project that will enrich the lives of our neighbors and shape the future of Bentonville.”

Flintco’s longstanding presence in Arkansas, spanning over 73 years, emphasizes the company’s deep roots within the community. The Adult Recreation Center serves as another testament to Flintco’s dedication to shaping the future of Bentonville and enriching the lives of its residents.
