- Texas Parks and Wildlife Department awarded Flintco the contract to commence critical vessel repairs to the USS Battleship Texas. In June 2012, the Battleship Texas began taking on water at rates as high as 2,000 gallons per minute due to leaks in her fragile hull.
- The complex repairs are intended to stabilize the Battleship Texas in accordance with the U.S. Department of Interior's "Standards for Historic Vessel Preservation." The battleship cannot be moved – all repairs must be executed with the ship in her current location. The ship is a designated U.S. National Historic Landmark.
