Golden Mesa Hotel and Casino Expansion Tops Out

Guymon, OK – In a collaborative effort, the Shawnee Tribe, the Chickasaw Nation, Connect Advisors, HGB Design, and Flintco recently celebrated the topping out ceremony for the expansion of the Golden Mesa Hotel and Casino. This significant milestone marks a crucial point in the ongoing development project, which aims to transform the first casino in the Oklahoma panhandle into a premier entertainment and hospitality destination.

The topping out ceremony, a time-honored tradition in the construction industry, celebrates the completion of the building’s skeleton. Following tradition, project stakeholders signed a steel column, symbolizing good fortune for future occupants.

The expansion project, which commenced while maintaining full casino operations, represents a joint vision to enhance the region’s economic landscape and provide an unparalleled guest experience.

When finished, the expansion will double the size of the casino gaming floor, accommodating more than 1,000 electronic games and introducing a full-service restaurant. A key feature of the project is the addition of a new 4-story, 99-room hotel, complete with a welcoming lobby and a coffee shop. These additions will allow Golden Mesa to offer a comprehensive resort experience to visitors.

“We want to extend our thanks and gratitude to everybody who’s been a part of this project and it’s been exciting. It’s an exciting day for us because it’s momentous,” said Chris Floyd, President of Shawnee Development. “This is the opportunity for us to grow not only as a tribe, but as a community, and for Golden Mesa to be a shining star of entertainment for this whole area of the Panhandle and its surrounding communities.”

As construction progresses, the team remains focused on maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency, carefully integrating the expansion with the existing structure while minimizing operational disruptions.

This expanded entertainment and hospitality complex is set to become a landmark, attracting visitors from across the region and beyond, and contributing significantly to the area’s economic prosperity
