Zack Zoller
EPC Contract Director
Zack Zoller has spent two decades advancing the solar industry, from when a 5-megawatt project was considered large to today’s utility-scale solar and battery energy storage developments. As EPC Contracts Director for Flintco Renewable Energy, he leads engineering, procurement, and contracting efforts during preconstruction, working closely with business development and estimating on site design, materials selection, constructability, vendor agreements, and EPC contracts.
He began his renewables career in 2006 as a foundational hire at Blue Oak Energy (now a WSP Company), a solar engineering startup, where one of his earliest projects was a 2 MW campus-wide installation at Google’s Mountain View headquarters campus. Zack advanced to Director of Engineering at Blue Oak Energy before moving into executive engineering and EPC and IPP leadership positions, most recently serving as Vice President of EPC at Adapture Renewables. Throughout his career, he has contributed to an incalculable number of gigawatts of solar and energy storage projects in the US and abroad. He joined Flintco Renewable Energy in 2026 after working alongside Flintco on the owner’s side of the Cooks Mill and Crooked Creek projects.
Zack approaches every project with open communication, early risk identification, and strong partnerships. He believes collaboration between owners and contractors leads to the best outcomes, helping both parties apply lessons learned, anticipate challenges, and build the trust needed to explore new approaches and identify greater value. Drawing on his experience across project development, engineering, procurement, and construction, he connects technical decisions with practical execution to help clients navigate complexity and move forward with confidence.
Zack holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree in engineering, specializing in transportation technology and policy, from the University of California, Davis. He is also a licensed professional electrical engineer.
Raised in rural Northern California, Zack developed an appreciation for agriculture, sustainability, and long-term planning that continues to influence his work and personal life. Today, he and his family live north of Napa, where their hobbies include raising sheep (the kind you would put in a solar farm) and chickens. He also participates in his family’s vineyards, which supplies grapes to local wineries, and enjoys making his own wine when time permits. A mechanical engineer at heart, Zack enjoys collecting and restoring vintage tractors and appreciates the simplicity of older machinery.
