Flintco joined Texas A&M University System, Texas A&M University-San Antonio (A&M-San Antonio), and the Educare Network to break ground on the new Educare San Antonio facility. This milestone project will be Texas’ first Educare school and will join a national network of 25 early childhood education centers across the country. The 25,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility represents a transformative partnership between Educare, the Texas A&M University System, A&M-San Antonio, and the San Antonio community.
“This transformative project demonstrates Flintco’s commitment to building facilities that make a lasting impact on our communities,” said Seth Pustejovsky, Flintco Project Manager. “We’re proud to partner with A&M-San Antonio and the Educare Network to create a space that will shape the future of early childhood education in Texas.”
Designed by Pfluger Architects in collaboration with RDG Planning & Design, the facility will serve approximately 200 children from birth to age five, helping to address South San Antonio’s critical shortage of quality childcare. The innovative design features outdoor access from each classroom, naturally shielded play areas, and state-of-the-art security measures. The architecture blends A&M-San Antonio’s classic style with child-friendly elements celebrating the region’s cultural heritage.
“We collaborated with A&M-San Antonio to create a facility that serves both the university and the community,” said Chris Lammers, Pfluger’s higher education practice director. “As the first Educare facility on a university campus, this project creates a unique connection between early childhood and higher education, benefiting both A&M-San Antonio students and the broader San Antonio community.”
Beyond serving as an early learning center, the facility will function like a teaching hospital for early childhood education. It will provide professional development opportunities for educators, administrators, and A&M-San Antonio students across various disciplines while serving as a hub for research and demonstration of best practices.

The facility will welcome families from throughout Bexar County, and financial assistance will be available for low-income households, ensuring broad access to high-quality early childhood education.
