Community and state leaders joined Baptist Memorial Health Care and the Fayette County Board of Commissioners on Thursday to break ground on the county’s new hospital – Baptist Memorial Hospital-Fayette County.
“This is an exciting day for Baptist Memorial Health Care and Fayette County. We have been eager to start work on this hospital, which marks a new chapter for health care in Fayette County. With the support of the Fayette County mayor, Fayette County Board of Commissioners and the Fayette County Industrial Development Board, we’re able to ensure everyone in the vicinity of this county has access to exceptional, compassionate care for generations to come.”
Jason Little, President and CEO, Baptist Memorial Health Care
Located at the northwest corner of Highway 64 and Warren Road near Tennessee Tractor, this will be the only hospital in the 11-city county of more than 41,000 residents, according to the 2020 census. The community hospital will feature eight emergency department beds and eight inpatient beds, with advanced telehealth capabilities, inpatient and outpatient imaging services and point-of-care lab services on site.
“This is a historic day for Fayette County, and I am so proud to have a part in bringing comprehensive health care to the community. This project is about so much more than a new building. It is about building health and wellness and investing in the future of our community.”
Rhea “Skip” Taylor, Mayor of Fayette County
Flintco, A2H and Covider Health are partners on the development and construction of the $27 million hospital, which is expected to open in spring 2027.
