PROJECT DETAILS
The Federal Aviation Administration Civil Aerospace Medical Institute (CAMI) Wind and Waves (WiWaves) project is the Waves portion of the scope. This is the only training facility of its kind in the world. This water research tank area includes a one-million-gallon indoor, chlorinated pool, two large dehumidification units and is surrounded by the structural and mechanical apparatus needed to simulate the rough sea conditions with wave and wind generation machines. The pool also includes fans on the pool deck, overhead bridge crane and lighting/sound to re-create diamond shaped waves to mimic the open ocean during any type of climate. It will be used to train all branches of the military and private sector for water evacuations. Additionally, there is a multi-purpose room capable of supporting multiple classroom setups.
