OSU Central Plant & Power Distribution Upgrade

The central utility plant serves 10 million SF across the OSU–Stillwater campus, delivering reliable steam and chilled water to 82 buildings. High-capacity boilers and chillers support heating, cooling, and process needs through an extensive underground distribution network. Designed as both infrastructure and a teaching tool, the facility includes an 80-seat classroom and an observation deck overlooking plant operations. The project also modernizes the campus electrical distribution system with increased voltage capacity, underground duct banks, and a new 12,000 SF power distribution center that includes a hardened basement electrical vault designed to withstand F3 winds, strengthening resilience and supporting the university’s long-term growth.
